Whistleblower warns that DOGE may have leaked personal information of over 300 million Americans
On August 27, Jin10 reported that Chuck Borges, a senior data officer at the Social Security Administration (SSA), pointed out in a whistleblower complaint that members of the Department of Efficiency (DOGE) had uploaded a massive Social Security database to a cloud server, putting the personal information of over 300 million Americans at risk. The whistleblower report submitted to the U.S. Special Counsel’s Office and members of Congress stated that the uploaded data included records of all Social Security numbers issued by the federal government, as well as full names, birth dates, and other personal information. Borges did not indicate in the complaint that the database had been compromised. The SSA stated that no evidence of any breach has been found in the environment.
