The latest Ethereum conference: Pectra's Devnet-1 is expected to be launched in the next one to two weeks
PANews July 5th news, according to the summary of the 191st Ethereum Execution Layer Core Developer Meeting (ACDE) shared on the Ethereum forum, this meeting discussed multiple proposals including Pectra update and EIP-7212. 1. Regarding the Pectra update, it is waiting for more clients to be ready before launching Devnet-1, but it is expected to be implemented in the next one or two weeks. The new update of EIP-7702 will be introduced on Devnet-2. 2. The EIP-7212 proposal has received support, and the decision on whether to officially include it in Pectra will be made in the next ACDE meeting. This proposal brings many improvements to key/wallet management and adopts widely supported encryption curves. 3. The meeting also discussed a proposal to add events to the pre-deployed system contract for cross-layer communication with EIP-7002 and EIP-7251. Everyone agrees that this change is meaningful and will update the corresponding contracts. 4. The meeting called for the deactivation of EIP-158 2 to simplify the deployment of EIP-7702 and Verkle migration. Given the latest updates of 7702, this proposal is no longer necessary. 5. Finally, the meeting discussed progress made in other protocol improvements, such as changes to historical expiration and blob memory pool to simplify the way users use blob, such as rollup. Some people called for more regular updates on the progress of EIP-4444 and urged rollup and clients to take various measures to handle the process from blob producers to on-chain blob inclusion more intelligently.
