PANews August 17 news, according to Forbes, OpenAI banned accounts related to Iran using ChatGPT, allegedly creating fake social media profiles and false news articles in an attempt to incite political division in the U.S. OpenAI stated that its investigation benefited from a report released by Microsoft last week, which found that groups linked to Iran were attempting to attack senior officials and spread online disinformation campaigns. Microsoft and OpenAI confirmed the same organization named Storm-2035 in their reports, with Microsoft describing it as an Iranian network consisting of four websites that impersonate legitimate news organizations, reporting on presidential candidates, LGBTQ rights, and the Israel-Hamas conflict.
