2024 Became the 'ETF' Year for Cryptocurrencies! Which Projects' ETFs Can Be Approved in 2025? Here Are the Expert Opinions

Crypto ETFs in 2025: What's Next for Solana, Hedera, and More?

With the establishment of Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs, industry experts anticipate a new wave of crypto ETFs supported by a maturing regulatory environment, including those for altcoins such as Solana and Hedera.

In 2024, the crypto ETF market has experienced unprecedented growth. Spot Bitcoin ETFs, which were approved earlier in the year, currently hold more than 5% of Bitcoin's total supply.

More than an estimated 1.1 million BTC attributed to Satoshi Nakamoto. Spot Ethereum ETFs followed suit in July, opening the door to wider adoption of digital asset ETFs.

Anchorage Digital CEO Nathan McCauley emphasized the rapid development of the market.

The story of Crypto ETFs is a continuous maturation story that has made the field more accessible for both institutional and retail participants with diversified custodians and the approval of Bitcoin ETF options.

Jay Jacobs, President of thematic ETFs at BlackRock, said the following:

"We are only at the tip of the iceberg with Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs. Only a small portion of our customers own these products, so our focus continues to be on altcoin ETFs before moving on."

The start of a new US administration in 2025 and the resignation of SEC Chairman Gary Gensler signal a significant change in crypto regulations. Paul Atkins, a crypto-friendly appointment, will lead the SEC and promote optimism for clearer guidance and broader ETF approvals.

ETF Store President Nate Geraci expressed optimism:

"Crypto regulatory headwinds have shifted, and there is growing optimism about additional ETF approvals. Those in the industry are bullish, especially when it comes to Solana ETFs.

A Solana ETF reflecting SEC's relationship with issuers and the success of Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs could be approved by the end of 2025.

There's a new crypto-friendly sheriff in town. This administration will likely remove the obstacles that previously stopped ETF approvals. Please provide the text to be translated. Beyond Solana, other altcoin ETFs such as Hedera (HBAR) and XRP** are also being considered. Experts like Louis Sykes of All-Star Charts see Hedera as a more attractive institutional candidate compared to speculative assets like Dogecoin.

Still, the crypto ETF market is expected to evolve rapidly, with innovative products hitting the market under a friendlier regulatory environment.
