🔥 Day 8 Hot Topic: XRP ETF Goes Live
REX-Osprey XRP ETF (XRPR) to Launch This Week! XRPR will be the first spot ETF tracking the performance of the world’s third-largest cryptocurrency, XRP, launched by REX-Osprey (also the team behind SSK). According to Bloomberg Senior ETF Analyst Eric Balchunas,
Will there be a MicroStrategy that constantly buys Ethereum?
According to Jake Ostrovskis, who trades over-the-counter (OTC) at market maker firm Wintermute, the growing trend of companies adding Bitcoin to their balance sheets could significantly increase demand for cryptocurrencies by 2025.
Ostrovskis drew attention to the increasing interest of companies, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and traditional institutions in embracing Bitcoin as a strategic asset.
Ostrovskis said, "I think next year, when institutions as well as companies turn to Bitcoin, this will be a significant driving force," and added, "You will probably see SMEs coming as well."
This trend is largely fueled by MicroStrategy, a commercial computing company that has purchased over $10 billion in Bitcoin and plans to purchase an additional $42 billion by leveraging its own equity to finance the purchases.
Ostrovskis cited Marathon Digital Holdings (MARA) and Riot Platforms as examples of companies issuing convertible bonds to finance Bitcoin purchases. Additionally, earlier this week, technology firm Metaplanet announced plans to raise a total of 31.8 million dollars through a bond issuance to accelerate Bitcoin purchases.
Ostrovskis said, "People talk about the impact of ETFs, and the real driving force behind this is that retirement funds and sovereign wealth funds can now invest in cash," and added, "However, in companies, there is probably another capital pool that is freer and probably moves faster than waiting for retirement funds to come and buy Bitcoin ETFs."
"It's probably just a matter of time before someone does the same thing and turns themselves into an Ethereum investment vehicle," he said, adding, "At that point, you become the MicroStrategy of that world."
