MoonPay invested in the self-custody wallet Zengo and will also help it with payments.

Abstract generation in progress

[Coin World] MoonPay Ventures just announced an investment in the hosted wallet Zengo.

This time it's not just as simple as investing money—MoonPay will also directly provide fiat deposit and withdrawal services to Zengo, making it more convenient for users to buy and sell cryptocurrencies in their wallets. The two companies say they will work on product usability, after all, self-custody wallets still have a high threshold for beginners.

More importantly, the payment channel will expand, and the entire product ecosystem of Zengo will grow along with it. It looks like a quite practical strategic cooperation, not the kind that just invests money without taking action.

Finally, the hosted wallet has started to do something meaningful, no longer just a pure experience of being played for suckers.

Not bad, MoonPay really went all out this time, directly helping Zengo set up payment channels... It's definitely much more beginner-friendly.

Finally, someone is serious about usability for self-custody wallets, this is how it should be. --- MoonPay's combination of strategies is indeed strong, directly connecting the payment channel, newbies should be pleased. --- Another investment story, let's wait and see if it can survive until next year. --- If fiat deposit and withdrawal can truly be implemented, it would be worth looking forward to, otherwise it’s just another round of marketing. --- To be honest, the experience with self-custody wallets has always been disappointing, it's nice to have a big company to provide support.

Ha, finally someone has combined the fiat off-ramp with the hosted wallet, this is the real deal. Zengo is indeed clever, finding a backer with a payment background is not just talk. The threshold for newbies is truly a tough nut to crack for hosted wallets, and now being able to fiat off-ramp directly from the wallet? Alright, I have high hopes for this move. But we need to see how the subsequent experience goes, as long as the off-ramp speed and fees don't cause any troubles. Zengo has made the right move, once the ecosystem gets running, it won't be able to stop.
