#Gate13周年全球庆典
First Encounter: The Amusement Park Called "Bitier"
Many people don't know that Gate had a more down-to-earth name in its early days — "Bitier". When I entered the space in 2015, it was like a "amusement park" for digital currencies. While other major exchanges were focused on mainstream coins, what attracted me most to Gate was the dazzling array of "altcoins".
The most unforgettable trading moments back then weren't about how much money I made, but that thrilling feeling of exploring the unknown. The first time I bought Doge here, the first time I tried Litecoin without really understanding it — while those moves look pretty "rookie" now, the joy of "hands faster than brain" was real. Back then, it felt like an inclusive gateway that opened the door to a new world for me.
Growth: Epiphany at 3 AM and the Evolution of the "Liquidation King"
Of course, 13 years of journey isn't all scenery — mostly it's been storms.
The most unforgettable night was probably around 3 AM sometime after 2017. BTC suddenly surged, my mind was full of FOMO, and I executed trades fiercely, only to check my returns: +0.3%. At that moment, staring at the screen, I suddenly laughed — turns out what really causes losses isn't the market, it's emotions.
I almost got completely liquidated once. That night I realized I wasn't investing — I was gambling. From then on, I stopped chasing "get rich quick" and learned position management, learned to use strategy tools on Gate. As an old-timer said in the forum, I evolved from a "rookie village monster" to an "experienced hodler BOSS", from an "emotional trader" to a "calm worker".
Gate witnessed my transformation and the industry's evolution too. From simply listing coins to now supporting over 4,500 assets with a 125% reserve ratio as an industry giant, it proved with 13 years what "long-termism" means.
Now: A New Starting Point Toward Intelligent Web3
Today, Gate's label is no longer just "exchange". Seeing the platform's recent moves, I feel quite sentimental — it's becoming a "digital financial infrastructure" connecting traditional finance and the crypto world.
Especially this year's "Gate AI Era" announcement really caught my eye as a long-time user. Whether it's GateAI that helps generate strategies or that badass-named GateClaw (blue lobster), they're all telling us: future trading isn't about who dares the most, but who's smarter, who knows how to use tools.
Birthday Celebration: My Most Anticipated Gift
Coming back to the hot topics of 3/18, if I had to answer those three questions, here's what I'd say:
1️⃣ A one-sentence wish: Happy 13th birthday, Gate! May you help us veterans not become "bag holders" in the next bull market, but instead become winners who transcend cycles.
2️⃣ Most unforgettable story: It's not about any windfall, but that 3 AM epiphany. Thanks to this stable platform for giving me enough tools and a cooling-off period to pull myself back whenever I wanted to "take a gamble".
3️⃣ Activity I most want to join: Definitely AI-related activities. I really want to see how Gate's vision of an "Intelligent Web3" world where we "battle models and strategies" will actually change our trading habits. Of course, if I could win that $1,000 position experience voucher to try out new AI strategies, that would be perfect.
13 years is a milestone, and more importantly, a watershed.
The tide of the industry has ebbed and flowed, and I'm grateful Gate is still here, and so am I.
The future is here, let's continue on Gate and sail together toward this vast sea of stars.
