What Is Nomina?
Nomina (Token: NOM) represents the upgraded brand formerly known as Omni Network (OMNI). In September 2025, Omni Labs officially announced that Omni Network would rebrand as Nomina, introducing a new brand identity, visual system, and forward-looking vision.
During the transition, all existing OMNI tokens will be automatically migrated at a rate of 1 OMNI to 75 NOM, no action is required by users. The primary motivation for the rebrand is to lower DeFi’s barriers to entry, allowing a broader range of users to participate more easily.
Following the rebrand, NOM becomes the network’s main token, and the network will gradually phase out OMNI from circulation.
Nomina: Token Mechanism and Security Architecture
To enhance network security and mitigate attack risks, Nomina employs a dual staking model:
- Users can stake NOM to secure the network.
- Nomina integrates EigenLayer’s restaking mechanism, allowing ETH to be restaked on the Nomina chain via EigenLayer.
This structure gives Nomina significant potential for chain security, censorship resistance, and reliability.
Token issuance and supply details:
- Total supply cap for NOM is 7.5 billion tokens.
- At rebrand launch, the initial circulating supply is approximately 2.9 billion tokens (migrated from OMNI at the designated ratio).
- The migration is fully automatic; holders of OMNI tokens or staked OMNI assets will receive NOM in their balances automatically.
