Broadcom Announces Enterprise-Grade Wi-Fi 8 Standard Access Point (AP) and Switch Solutions

IT Home, February 4th News, Broadcom announced yesterday local time in California, USA, the launch of enterprise-grade Wi-Fi 8 (802.11bn) standard AP access points and Switch switch solutions, claiming to be the industry’s first products of their kind specifically designed for AI-ready enterprise networks.

Broadcom’s enterprise-grade Wi-Fi 8 AP is based on the APU chip BCM49438 and radio chips BCM43840, BCM43844, BCM43820; while the enterprise switch platform is based on the Trident X3+ BCM56390 switch chip, equipped with Multi-Gig PHY and POE power supply chips.

These products all support MACsec end-to-end security, introduce advanced telemetry and analytics engines, and the AP platform integrates edge AI/ML engines for advanced AI model acceleration.

Broadcom stated that it is currently providing samples of complete enterprise-grade Wi-Fi 8 AP and switch solutions to its early customers and partners.
