At 14:00 on March 4, the central hall of the Great Hall of the People welcomed the first “Member Channel” of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. Nine members of the National Committee entered one after another, sharing vivid stories and detailed data with reporters, showcasing the rapid development of our country.

In the past five years, China’s economy has consistently reached new heights, crossing the 140 trillion yuan threshold… At the scene, member Guo Lanfeng, president of the China Economic Reform Research Association, recounted the achievements in economic and social development during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, expressing deep feelings: The great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is unstoppable.

Food is of paramount importance to the people. China’s grain production has stabilized at 1.4 trillion jin for two consecutive years. Huang Sanwen, president of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, believes this is closely related to agricultural science and technology.

At the event, Huang Sanwen introduced the technological achievements of the academy’s research team over the years. Looking to the future, he stated that it is necessary to accelerate the self-reliance and strength of high-level agricultural science and technology, providing more advanced and practical results to effectively serve the “three rural issues” and give stronger technological wings to the construction of a strong agricultural nation.

Technology is the primary productive force. Today, quantum technology is becoming an important force in reshaping industrial patterns and national competitiveness.

After years of continuous efforts, our country has made a series of breakthroughs in the field of quantum technology. Pan Jianwei, executive vice president of the University of Science and Technology of China, shared insights gained during this process: Key core technologies cannot be obtained or waited for. As long as we maintain our confidence and innovate independently, leveraging the advantages of a new type of national system, we can certainly transform “bottlenecks” into “fulcrums” for development.

During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, our country has built the world’s largest and fastest-growing renewable energy system, established the world’s largest and most complete new energy industry chain, and maintained the world’s number one production and sales of new energy vehicles, achieving leapfrog development in the new energy industry.

Zeng Yuqun, chairman of Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited, expressed that looking ahead, the company will increase research and development investment, sell Chinese products globally, promote Chinese technology and standards worldwide, and continue to work with international peers to contribute to the new energy cause.

Development achievements are flourishing in many areas, and cultural events are thriving.

“Last year’s ‘Su Super League’ was very popular: there were 2.43 million on-site viewers, over 2.2 billion online views, and the topic had over 100 billion views.” Jiang Pengju, vice mayor of Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province, used a string of numbers to illustrate the vibrant practice of promoting high-quality development in sports.

Sports thrive on cultural empowerment, grand events are achieved through integration and innovation, and activities reflect the warmth of cities. Currently, the “City Super League” in various regions has become an important vehicle for gathering social consensus, empowering urban renewal, and serving a better life. “I believe the ‘City Super League’ in 2026 will definitely be even more exciting!” Jiang Pengju said.

At the scene, Mu Yase’er Tuohuti, president of Xinjiang Arts Institute, recalled her participation in the 70th anniversary celebration of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region with great excitement.

“All ethnic groups in Xinjiang are connected members of the big family of the Chinese nation. On the fertile land north and south of Tianshan, the pomegranate flowers will surely bloom more brightly, and the song of unity will definitely sing louder!” she said.

Currently, maritime transport is showing strong resilience and vitality in development.

“For the economy to develop and the nation to be strong, transportation, especially maritime transport, must first be strong.” Li Ying, a professor at the Dalian Maritime University, stated that looking ahead, intelligent support for the safety and resilience of shipping channels will promote smooth logistics, and integrated intelligent vessels will help people enjoy their journeys. “I believe our marine thoroughfare will continue to improve.”

Building the world’s largest 5G network, with more than 60% of global 5G base stations… The development of China’s information and communication industry is a vivid practice of modern industrial system construction.

Strengthening strategic emerging industries and future industries, deepening intelligent technology to empower traditional industry upgrades… Looking towards the 15th Five-Year Plan, Yang Jie, former chairman of China Mobile Communications Group Co., Ltd., stated that promoting the construction of a modern industrial system to new heights requires precise and coordinated efforts.

Nothing is impossible if one is willing to climb.

From the first time in 1960 when members of the Chinese Mountaineering Team raised the five-star red flag at the world’s peak to the successful measurement of Mount Everest at 8,848.86 meters in 2020, and now more and more people summiting Everest, Wang Yongfeng, vice president of the China Mountaineering Association, believes that this is supported by technological progress and the strength of comprehensive national power.

“Chinese-style modernization also requires a spirit of climbing. As long as we uphold this spirit, stay focused on our goals, and act with determination, there will be no peak we cannot conquer, and no dream we cannot achieve,” he said.
