Michael Saylor believes that BlackRock's IBIT will buy 600 billion USD Bitcoin and lead the world in 10 years.
Michael Saylor, the founder and CEO of MicroStrategy, has made an ambitious statement: he believes that BlackRock’s spot Bitcoin ETF – with the ticker $IBIT – will become the largest ETF in the world within the next 10 years.
In a recent interview, Saylor argued that the increasing acceptance of Bitcoin among institutional investors, along with the superior monetary properties of this asset, will strongly drive demand for $IBIT. He emphasized that if the current trend continues, this ETF could accumulate over 600 billion USD worth of Bitcoin – a figure that could surpass all existing traditional ETFs on the market.
Currently, $IBIT is managing approximately 48 billion USD in assets, far behind the Vanguard S&P 500 ETF ($VOO), the largest ETF in the world today with assets worth up to 573 billion USD. However, the growth rate of $IBIT’s assets since its launch in January 2024 has caught the attention of the financial community. According to analysts, $IBIT is one of the fastest-growing ETFs in history.
Saylor believes that Bitcoin is not just a speculative asset, but will gradually become a “global strategic reserve asset.” The involvement of large institutions like BlackRock behind investment products related to Bitcoin will help this asset become increasingly recognized in mainstream finance and attract significant capital flows from global institutional investors.
In addition, Saylor also mentioned MicroStrategy’s Bitcoin accumulation strategy. He believes that if the price of Bitcoin triples from its current level – something he thinks is entirely feasible in the coming years – then MicroStrategy could become the company holding the largest amount of cash in the world, surpassing even leading tech corporations like Apple or Alphabet.
Saylor’s statement continues to reinforce his long-term optimistic outlook on Bitcoin, while highlighting the growing role of ETFs in bringing digital assets into traditional capital flows. If the scenario he describes becomes a reality, the global financial market could witness a profound restructuring in the coming decade – with Bitcoin playing a central role.
