🚨 Why I firmly refuse to buy gold?

Gold has always been a "safe haven" for many investors, especially for Chinese people, as it seems that everyone has a "golden complex." But for me, investing in gold is not a good choice. Let me share a few reasons with you 👇:

1. Gold does not generate cash flow 💸
No matter how much gold you have, it cannot generate income for you. If you have gold in hand, the only thing you can do is sell it. Investments such as stocks, bonds, and funds can provide a continuous cash flow—while gold is merely a store of value, with extremely limited returns.

2. Gold returns are lower than stocks 📉
According to historical data, from 1975 to 2025, the annual average return of the S&P 500 is close to 11%, while gold is only 6%. If you had invested in the S&P 500 30 years ago, you would have 1.86 million today; investing in gold would only give you 1 million. Stocks earn more than gold!

3. The cost of holding gold is high 💰
The storage, insurance, and transaction fees for gold are a lot. If you choose a gold ETF, the management fees are outrageous. Compared to the 0.03% management fee of the S&P 500 index fund, the 0.4% management fee of the gold ETF is 13 times more expensive!

4. Gold has high volatility and high risk ⚠️
Gold prices can fluctuate at any time. In 1980, the price of gold skyrocketed to $850, and then plummeted. The volatility is high, and the risks are significant; even the risks of gold ETFs are higher than those of the S&P 500 index!

Conclusion: Gold is fundamentally unsuitable as a primary investment; its returns, risks, and costs are all less than ideal. If you want to appreciate your wealth, stocks are your best friend! 📈
