Sideways markets are where chart patterns go to die.
Most technical setups fail when price is chopping because: - Zero directional momentum - Support and resistance levels keep breaking down - Price whipsaws traders on both ends - Stop hunts become the norm
Spotted a pattern forming inside a narrow range? Odds are stacked against you.
The smarter play? Let a clear market structure develop before pulling the trigger.

Sideways consolidation is really a nightmare for the technical analysis, I've suffered losses from this stop loss hunting tactic more than once.

nah sideways chop is where retail gets liquidated fr. seen too many "textbook setups" get stop hunted into oblivion. patience > pattern recognition when liquidity's this fractured

Damn, the Sideways trend is really killing the stop loss; every time I think there's a pattern, it gets swept away.

The sideways market is really a graveyard for TA; I've just been chopped up by this damn market these past few days.
