No one will actually blame you for not donating - it's not a mandatory obligation. To be honest, I haven't donated either. Why? The market has been bad this year, and I'm really tight on cash. However, I will do one thing: every time I see a donation post, I will leave a comment thanking those who contribute real money.
It's fine to act within your capabilities, but never engage in any false pretense. Sincerity is more important than numbers.
