Don't remind me again today

#ETH走势分析 On December 4th, $ETH suddenly had a sharp pump, driven by the official launch of the Fusaka hard fork. What's the most tangible change in this update? Layer2 transaction fees have been slashed in half—what used to cost a few dollars per transaction can now be done for just a few cents.

💸 Wallets are lighter, the experience is smoother

Let's talk about fees first. Previously, transferring on L2 would cost at least a few dollars, but now it's been cut by 40%-60%. For high-frequency traders, the savings are significant.

Next, the login method. EIP-7951 has introduced Passkey technology, so you no longer need to memorize that long, impossible-to-remember seed phrase—just scan your face or use your fingerprint to transfer funds. Common wallets like MetaMask and Rainbow are already fully compatible, making the experience truly seamless.

📊 Technology is being implemented, no more empty promises

Before the upgrade, the development team even went to Peking University for a technical exchange, which at least shows one thing: they're not developing in isolation, but are genuinely engaging with the global tech community.

From a practical standpoint, this move by Ethereum is a strong push towards "everyone can use it." Previously, L2 felt more like a toy for developers and power users, but now the barrier to entry is much lower and regular users can participate at a minimal cost. The number of active on-chain addresses and transactions will likely see a noticeable increase soon.

🔮 Looking ahead

In the short term, the traffic dividend from this upgrade is still being unleashed. In the long run, this is a key move for Ethereum in the usability race. After all, when transfer costs drop to about the same as sending a message, there's much less resistance for users to migrate.

The fee reduction is indeed significant, but can Passkey really become widespread? It seems like most people are still used to the private key system.

The halved fees are definitely nice, but I wonder how long this will last. There have been quite a few upgrade promises in the past as well.

Halving the fees is definitely great, but when it comes to actual use, we still need to see if it remains stable in the long run...

look, passkey auth sounds nice on paper but we've seen this story before with "simplified" UX reducing friction. lower fees are legit but don't sleep on the liquidity fragmentation this creates across L2s. gotta map out the actual routing mechanics here before we celebrate... anyone else auditing the contract changes or just me?

Damn, the fees have been cut in half! This upgrade is definitely awesome. I finally don't have to worry about a single transaction eating up half my monthly salary.
