Are traders betting against Bitcoin right before the Fed's move?

Short positions on BTC are piling up as speculation heats up around a possible rate cut. Market participants seem to be positioning defensively—anticipating volatility or a potential pullback once the Fed announces its decision.

Interesting timing. Rate cuts usually favor risk assets, but short interest suggests some expect a "sell the news" scenario. Could be a classic case of overcrowded positioning, or maybe smart money sees something we don't yet.

Keep an eye on funding rates and liquidation levels in the coming sessions.

Are there really that many short positions piling up? Feels like someone is putting on a show, just waiting for the Fed to make a move before dumping the market.

Seeing short positions piling up... As expected, everyone wants to catch the bottom, but they all end up getting trapped. What does smart money really know? I feel like everyone is betting on the same direction. There's a good chance of a dump. Let's watch how the liquidation levels move first.

Here we go again? Just because there's a pile-up of short positions, they call it smart money. I think it's mostly retail traders scaring each other... --- Before the Fed makes a move, this round of short squeezes means it’s almost time to buy the dip, just like history shows. --- Funding rate is the real truth; don’t be fooled by these superficial numbers. --- Sell the news? That’s funny. I heard that all last year, and look how that turned out... --- Smart money or whatever, I only trust the liquidation data—it doesn’t lie. --- Interest rate drops = risk assets rally. Anyone betting the other way will lose.

Ah, it’s the same old trick again. The short positions are piling up, just waiting for the Fed to make an announcement and then dump the market. Is it really the same old play this time? I bet the smart money has already positioned itself.
