👮 Hubei police announce handling of 1.9 million unclaimed USDT virtual assets; owners must claim within six months
On December 3, the Public Security Bureau of Jiayu County, Xianning City, Hubei Province, issued a notice stating that during the investigation of a case involving extortion and infringement of citizens' personal information, a large number of items related to the case were seized from the residence and rented house of the suspect, Zeng. Among these items was a virtual currency wallet containing approximately 1.9 million USDT.
As there is currently no clear owner of these assets, the police have announced their handling in accordance with the law. The owner(s) of these assets must bring legal identification to claim them within six months; after this period, the assets will be turned over to the national treasury in accordance with the law.
