“How Much Further Must the Road of Gender Opposition Go?”

In my article on the unity of “fist tower” (activism) and “fortress” (theory), I once proposed this concept: Ten years of activism have overdrawn five thousand years of credibility.

What does “ten years of activism overdrawing five thousand years of credibility” mean? As some comrades have pointed out, this so-called “credibility” is, in essence, not so much about trust as it is about two ideological engravings:

1. In gender relations, I am a man, so I must give first; I am a man, so when problems arise, I must reflect on myself first.

2. Women are inherently good, so if I invest in women and family, there will definitely be a positive outcome; if women and family receive my investment, they will surely give back to me.

The function of these ideological engravings is to make men believe that being the giving party in relationships brings huge positive returns, thus regarding a female-centric order as natural and self-evident. As for things like continuing the family line, those are secondary—essentially just part of the benefit, not the main issue.

These two engravings were once the cornerstone of maintaining a certain social order, but they also greatly suppressed men’s self-awareness and subjectivity. When real-world radical feminism’s increasing pressure, repeated social incidents, and certain policy or legal orientations began to loosen, crack, or even collapse these engravings, a general awakening and reflection among men became possible, and their latent initiative started to be activated. This is the key factor that cannot be ignored when men evaluate their own strength.

China’s gender struggle is not an isolated phenomenon. As the world’s second-largest economy and a nation of significant influence, China’s internal social trends and shifts in gender relations inevitably interact deeply with the broader global political, economic, and cultural environment.

We can see that in the US, among the forces opposed by the MAGA movement are leftist ideologies and radical feminist organizations whose interests are closely tied to their political opponents (like the Democratic Party and transatlantic globalist groups). The Chinese men’s rights movement faces a more top-down, high-pressure, vanguard-style opposition, but the underlying ideological conflicts, struggles over redistribution of social resources, and contests between traditional and radical values are essentially interconnected with similar struggles worldwide. Recognizing this connection allows us to broaden our perspective, draw on international experience (whether successful or not), avoid reinventing the wheel, and thus develop more realistic and forward-looking strategies.

Making use of and changing the international climate. Therefore, my conclusion is: The climax of China’s masculinity revolution is approaching. We must be clear—we are not fortune-tellers. Regarding the specific process and changes in future social movements, we can and should only point out the general direction and trend based on current conditions and the laws of contradiction, not mechanically predict the exact day, month, or year it will be achieved.

But when I say the climax of China’s masculinity revolution is approaching, this is by no means the kind of “possible arrival” that some refer to—something completely meaningless in practice, unattainable, and illusory. What is it then? It is like a ship whose masthead can already be seen from shore, though still some distance from port, its course is clear and its existence is real. It is like standing atop a high mountain, looking east to see the radiant dawn about to break—even though much of the land is still in darkness, the coming of light is now irreversible.

It is like a restless male infant in the cradle of technological breakthroughs (such as artificial wombs that could break the female monopoly on reproduction), almost ready to be born. Although not yet delivered, the pulse of its life can already be clearly heard, and its coming is unstoppable.

The so-called “approaching” means the certainty of this trend, the accumulation of its strength, and the visibility of its future. It requires us to abandon all unrealistic fantasies, whether reckless accelerationist dreams or pessimistic fatalistic illusions. We must base ourselves on current realities, conduct in-depth investigation and research, correctly assess the strengths and weaknesses of both sides, unite and transform all male masses, turn small victories into great ones, prepare for a long and arduous struggle, and with unyielding will and a spirit of seeking truth from facts, welcome and promote the eventual climax.

It feels like there is still a long road ahead; as long as positions differ, opposition will always exist.
