Last night, I took a cab home and the driver complained: "Cars are getting smarter, but the platform's cut is getting harsher. We're basically working for the algorithm." After getting out, I scrolled through X and saw an update from @peaq, and suddenly thought: What if cars and robots could be their own shareholders and split the profits themselves?
These past couple of days, our engineers took a look at peaq's recent moves: the new peaq app is basically becoming the gateway to the machine economy—you can see 60+ apps in one interface, plus Machine DeFi, staking, and governance. The trading layer has MachineX, a DEX for machine assets, with part of the transaction fees flowing back as incentives. Storage is handled by DeNet, and they’ve also secured an endorsement from VARA in Dubai for the Machine Economy Free Zone.
With the unlock approaching, there might still be some volatility in the short term. The engineers’ approach is to focus on hard metrics like the number of devices and MachineX trading volume—the growth is in machines and applications, not just the price chart.
