Why does this cycle not feel like an altcoin season at all? To put it bluntly, it’s because the whole “presidential coin” playbook completely threw everyone off.

How did altcoins used to take off? It was a process. Project teams would quietly accumulate and slowly pump, growing the market cap from a few hundred thousand to a few million, then grinding up to tens or even hundreds of millions. There would be continuous shakeouts, retail investors getting in, market makers joining, wave after wave of profit-taking and accumulation. The whole rhythm could last half a year or even a full year, and that was normal. Look at SHIB back then, or when PEPE was gaining momentum—weren’t those built up over time and patience, feeding the market bit by bit? Retail had plenty of time to watch, FOMO, chase the highs—that’s what makes it a “season.”

But then the presidential coins came and flipped the table. In just two days, they pumped straight to $8 billion—what does that mean? That’s the equivalent of instantly surpassing several established projects in size. The early holders who got in were already cashing out before anyone else even had a chance to react. And those who entered later? They were just left holding the bag. Prices skyrocketed so high, so fast, that regular people never even got a chance to slowly participate, let alone “ride the emotional wave.” The dump at the top was swift and brutal, leaving only panic and forced selling. Can this kind of playstyle create long-term holders? Dream on.

The most damaging part is the demonstration effect. People in the space watched as one presidential coin sucked up all the hype that should have belonged to altcoin season, turning a huge group of copycats into minced bagholders—so who would dare to touch alts now? Outsiders who were curious before have been scared away as well. The altcoin rally that should have slowly fermented was stomped out at the starting line.

President Coin's move is really brilliant, directly disrupting the clone's rhythm. Early investors are ecstatic, while latecomers are still trapped.

President Coin's move is really brilliant, directly destroying the tactics of the copycat season. This round is ruthless, early withdrawals made massive profits, later entrants all became bagholders. SHIB was so gentle back then, but now this gameplay leaves no room for retail investors to survive.

To be honest, President Coin has directly rewritten the rules of the game this time, and retail investors really haven't reacted yet.

honestly if you look at the data on these pump cycles, the correlation coefficient between entry velocity and holder retention is basically negative at this point. technically speaking, you need that distribution phase to work properly or you're just liquidating liquidity providers into oblivion.

Absolutely nailed it—the way the President Coin was played is like killing the goose that lays the golden eggs. I really don't know who would dare to play with shitcoins after this; everyone’s been scared out of their wits. These past couple of days, I’ve seen a bunch of newbies get rekt again, and it’s painful to watch.

That whole presidential coin wave really messed up the rhythm. Now, who still dares to gradually accumulate altcoins?

The cycle has been broken; that's the real trouble.

Yeah, that's exactly it. The trick got overused, and now no one dares to take over anymore.

The pump-and-dump schemes with those president coins have completely ruined the altcoin ecosystem. Who would dare to buy in now?

This move with President Coins has completely disrupted the altcoin rhythm—8 billion in two days is simply a dimensionality reduction strike. Early entrants made a killing, while latecomers are just feeding the pigs. How is anyone supposed to play this now? Honestly, whoever dares to touch altcoins now is just the next one to get rekt. Back in the SHIB days, that was a healthy hype cycle. Now, this fast rug-pull approach just kills all confidence.
