The latest lightweight hard fork BPO2 on Ethereum has been officially activated. This upgrade makes key adjustments to the blob parameters—target blob count increased from 10 to 14, and maximum blob count expanded from 15 to 21.
What does this mean? The amount of L2 transaction data submissions that a single block can handle has significantly increased, directly alleviating the pressure on data availability space in high-frequency trading scenarios on Layer 2.
With the accumulation of such upgrades, high-performance L2 networks capable of thousands of TPS are no longer just theoretical but are gradually becoming a reality. The expansion of the Ethereum ecosystem is accelerating.
---
Honestly, the blob thing feels overhyped. Can it really achieve tens of thousands of TPS now? I’m not so sure.
---
21 blobs sound good, but will L2 fees really be cheaper? Or will Layer 3 still be taking a cut?
---
Wait, does this upgrade mean the miners will have to tinker again...
---
Tens of thousands of TPS is indeed tempting, but can the ecosystem apps keep up? It always feels like the infrastructure is ahead, but users can never catch up.
---
Will the increasing number of blobs become a new centralization risk? Can the nodes handle the pressure?
---
Alright, another upgrade. Anyway, my shitcoin is still so expensive, it doesn’t matter to me.
---
When will this downgrade happen? Upgrading every day feels like fixing bugs.
---
Finally able to take a breather. The L2 fees were crazy before, all the profits went to gas fees.
---
It would be great if the blob magic can come true this time. By the way, how many times has it been "this time is really different"?
---
No, why does it feel like each upgrade isn't as powerful as expected?
---
Here it comes, the ten-thousand TPS hype again.
---
Now layer2 can finally breathe a sigh of relief; those gas fees before were really outrageous.
---
I'm optimistic about this blob expansion; finally addressing the core issue.
---
Wait, can this really lower gas fees this time, or is it just another false alarm?
---
Relieving data availability pressure is a good thing, but how much cheaper it will actually be remains to be seen.
---
I said this ten years ago, and I'm still saying it now, haha.
---
Another big upgrade show; looking forward to the implementation effects.
---
I just want to know when gas fees will drop back below 100 Gwei.
---
Wow, blob is expanding so much at once; developers must be thrilled.
---
After so much hype, is it finally going to be implemented? I just want to see if this time they can really reduce the gas fees.
---
The dream of achieving thousands of TPS has been ongoing. When will it finally come true?
---
Blob expansion is basically just using a band-aid; the core problem hasn't been solved yet.
---
L2 should have been done this way from the start. Why did it have to wait until now to take action?
---
Are 14 blobs enough... I still feel nervous.
