Turkish cryptocurrency exchange BTCTurk has once again suffered significant damage due to a security attack. According to market reports, the recent BTCTurk platform was targeted again by hackers, resulting in a loss of approximately $48 million. This is not a one-time incident but a serious warning sign of repeated security issues at the exchange.

Repeated Damage Following Last Summer

BTCTurk’s security problems are not new. In mid-August of last year, the same exchange experienced another hacking incident, incurring a loss of about $49 million. Nearly the same scale of damage occurred twice within just five months.

Trustworthiness Issues of Exchanges in Turkey’s Time Zone

The consecutive hacking incidents raise questions not only about BTCTurk but also about the overall credibility of cryptocurrency trading platforms in Turkey’s time zone. Concerns are growing over whether user assets are sufficiently protected and whether the exchange’s technical defense systems are adequate. Industry insiders point out that fundamental security system improvements at the exchange are urgently needed.
