Ameren Corp. unveiled a comprehensive leadership restructuring on Tuesday, with changes taking effect January 1, 2026. The reorganization aims to enhance operational performance while expanding the depth of executive expertise across the utility company’s portfolio. Central to these changes is the advancement of Lenny Singh, who transitions from his current position as chairman and president of Ameren Illinois to become executive vice president and chief financial officer of Ameren Corp., while maintaining leadership of Ameren Services.
Lenny Singh’s Appointment Reflects Decades Of Industry Experience
Lenny Singh brings more than three decades of energy sector expertise to his expanded role. Prior to joining Ameren in 2022, he spent over 30 years at Consolidated Edison Co. of New York, where he held various leadership positions spanning electric, natural gas, and steam operations, as well as corporate support functions. This extensive background across multiple utility segments positions Singh to drive strategic financial management at Ameren’s corporate level.
Strengthened Utility Oversight Structure
Michael Moehn, who previously served as senior executive vice president and chief financial officer, transitions to a newly created role: group president of Ameren Utilities. In this capacity, Moehn will provide centralized oversight of all three operating utilities—Ameren Missouri, Ameren Illinois, and Ameren Transmission Company of Illinois—with each subsidiary’s leadership reporting directly to him. Moehn has been with Ameren since 2000 and has held numerous senior positions throughout the company, including his tenure as chairman and president of Ameren Missouri.
Continuity Through Strategic Promotions
Patrick Smith Sr., currently senior vice president of operations and technical services, assumes the role of chairman and president of Ameren Illinois, reporting to Moehn under the new structure. Meanwhile, Shawn Schukar continues as chairman and president of Ameren Transmission Co. of Illinois, where he has successfully delivered substantial customer and shareholder value. Both Moehn and Singh maintain direct reporting relationships to Martin Lyons Jr., Ameren Corp.'s chairman, president and chief executive officer, ensuring aligned strategic direction across the organization.
The leadership adjustments reflect management’s commitment to strengthening operational excellence while building deeper executive capabilities throughout the company’s utility operations.
