Everyone says being a civil servant is comfortable, but in reality, it depends on the position. I have interacted with some grassroots police officers. When they get older, almost without exception, they are all plagued by health issues. The cause is often frequent late-night shifts, on-duty work, business trips, staying awake all night, and long-distance driving to different locations. Years of hard work and stress make it very difficult for grassroots police officers to retire comfortably, and the money they earn is also limited. Some jobs may seem glamorous on the surface, but the hardships behind the scenes are known only to oneself. Whether it’s a state-owned enterprise, a foreign company, or a civil service, working overtime or not is secondary. As long as the pay is on time, and the effort and reward are proportional, that’s what truly matters.
