According to ET News, the Korea Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Police Agency announced the launch of the "Dark Web and Virtual Asset Transaction Tracking Joint Drug Investigation System" development project, aimed at combating drug crimes that abuse dark web and cryptocurrency anonymity. The project will develop dark web de-anonymization technology, analysis of encrypted asset fund flows and transaction patterns, as well as AI-based automatic monitoring of drug advertisements and diffusion pathway analysis, integrating them into a unified investigation system to identify criminal organization structures and activities. The project is planned to invest approximately 13.7 billion KRW over 3 years.
