Norway House Prices Up 0.6% MoM in January

House prices in Norway rose by 0.6% month-on-month in January 2026, after showing no growth in the previous month. Residential sales totaled 8,156 units in January, down 4.4% from the same month last year, while 8,490 homes were listed for sale, 13.2% more than a year ago. The average time to sell a home was 62 days in January, compared to 71 days in December. Bergen and Stavanger and surrounding areas had the shortest selling period at 23 days, while Fredrikstad/Sarpsborg had the longest at 136 days. Regionally, Ålesund and its surrounding areas posted the strongest price gains (+3.8%), followed by Bodø/Fauske (+2.9%) and Tromsø (+2.8%). Meanwhile, Fredrikstad/Sarpsborg (-1.5%) and Asker/Bærum and surrounding areas (-1.3%) recorded the biggest declines. On a yearly basis, house prices increased by 4.2% in January, easing from a 5% rise in December.
