A person's life ultimately has to pay for their own character. Stubbornness, obsession, wishful thinking, sensitivity, introversion, bad temper—over the long term, the deepest harm is still done to oneself. Many people do not realize that the consequences they are currently bearing are actually the result of the seeds they have sown over the years. For example, stubborn and obsessive people may always seem to "win" when arguing with others, but because of their stubbornness, they will ultimately make many incorrect decisions, leading to a more difficult life. Character is essentially a reaction pattern to the people, events, and things around us, and the reactions you make will also determine the ultimate development and outcome of many things.
