Trump: The Federal Reserve should follow his guidance, and interest rates will be lowered soon

Odaily Planet Daily reports that U.S. President Trump stated on Wednesday that if the Fed chair nominee he endorses has expressed a willingness to raise interest rates, they will not be appointed to the position. He believes the Federal Reserve is theoretically an independent institution but should follow his guidance.

He said that interest rates will be lowered soon, stating, “Our interest rates are too high,” and emphasized that his understanding of the economy is deeper than almost anyone else’s. (Jin10)
