US Foods Holding Corp., a major player in the foodservice distribution sector, has confirmed a significant leadership change. The company revealed that Dave Flitman will assume the position of Chief Executive Officer starting January 5, 2023, and will also join the US Foods Board of Directors. This appointment marks a pivotal moment for the organization as it seeks to maintain its competitive edge in the food distribution industry.

His career has been marked by a consistent pattern of driving operational excellence across multiple sectors of the foodservice industry.

Before joining US Foods, Flitman served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Builders FirstSource, a position he held since April 2021. Prior to that role, he led BMC Stock Holdings as President and CEO until the merger with Builders FirstSource. His earlier tenure included serving as President and CEO of Performance Foodservice, which represented the largest segment within Performance Food Group—demonstrating his capability to manage substantial business units.

His career began at DuPont, where he spent two decades in diverse operational, commercial, and global business leadership capacities.

With Dave Flitman now confirmed as the permanent Chief Executive, Bob Dutkowsky transitions to assume the position of non-executive Chairman of the Board, effective the same date in January 2023. Andrew Iacobucci, who has served as interim CEO, will maintain leadership responsibilities until Flitman’s official start date, ensuring continuity during this transition period.
