On February 6, Michael Saylor responded to concerns about the risks of quantum computing to Bitcoin during the Strategy Q4 earnings call, stating that these claims are just FUD surrounding Bitcoin and he is dismissive of them. Michael Saylor said that quantum computing is still over 10 years away from true maturity and is currently an emerging but early-stage technology. Many industries, including financial services and defense, still heavily rely on traditional cryptographic systems. Globally, investments and research and development efforts to counter quantum cryptography protocols are ongoing. The Bitcoin community has also engaged in discussions and participation regarding related research and development work. If Bitcoin indeed needs to upgrade in the future, a consensus will be reached worldwide. After completing the quantum-safe upgrade, Bitcoin will only become stronger. Strategy will launch a comprehensive Bitcoin CEX plan, collaborating with global cybersecurity, cryptography, and the entire Bitcoin CEX community.
