CryptoWorld News reports that, according to The Financial Times, Bitcoin investor Olivier Janssens’ company assisted Saint Kitts and Nevis in drafting the “Special Sustainable Development Zone Authorization Act” (SSZAA) to support the establishment of a libertarian community called Destiny on Nevis Island. The project plans to purchase 2,400 acres of land, use cryptocurrency as daily currency, and establish an independent dispute resolution mechanism. The Destiny project is part of the “Cyber Nation” movement, aiming to create a territory with a more libertarian character through technology and encrypted wealth. Currently, the law is being questioned by the local Bar Association, which believes it may grant administrative power to developers, posing a “country within a country” risk. Nevis, located in the northern part of the Caribbean Leeward Islands, forms the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis together with Saint Kitts Island.
