The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) issued a statement on the 3rd saying that in the morning, while peacekeeping personnel were conducting routine patrols near Kira village in southern Lebanon, an Israeli military drone dropped a shock grenade overhead, fortunately causing no casualties. The statement said that during the patrol, peacekeepers were provoked by two drones, and after taking defensive measures, one drone dropped a shock grenade before flying towards Israel. The shock grenade exploded about 50 meters from the peacekeepers. The statement indicated that Israel’s use of armed drones violates United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701 and international law, and is unacceptable. Israel must respect the “Blue Line,” ensure the safety of peacekeeping personnel, and cease any form of attack. (CCTV News)
