Strategic Thinking in the Altcoin Market — Focus Only on the Main Line, Avoid the Noise — The Main Line is the Key to Profitability, Noise is the Root of Losses (2)
Core Logic: The price increases in the altcoin market are always concentrated in 1-2 main track sectors (funds, consensus, and news all focus on the main track). Meme coins (non-main track + no logic) may have short-term rebounds but rarely sustain a trend, and tend to fall more sharply during declines.
• How to identify the “main track sectors” (3 core signals):
◦ Fund flow signals: Among the top 20 altcoins by 24-hour trading volume, the sector accounts for over 30%; net fund inflow on mainstream exchanges has increased for 3 consecutive days; institutions have recently been actively deploying projects in this sector.
◦ Consensus signals: Top 3 in community discussion heat on Twitter, Discord, etc.; KOLs collectively endorse, with substantial logical support (not just hype); search interest (e.g., Google Trends, CoinGecko popularity) continues to rise.
◦ Catalytic signals: Driven by major events such as industry-level policies (e.g., a country recognizing the sector’s application), technological breakthroughs (e.g., a public chain’s performance doubling), ecosystem expansion (e.g., leading projects integrating the sector’s protocols).
• Priority for selecting coins within the main track (from high to low):
a. Sector leaders (highest trading volume, most complete ecosystem): e.g., AI coins like FET, AGIX; Meme sector coins like DOGE, Pepe (strongest consensus, best resilience).
b. Follow-up leaders (logic close to main track, lagging leaders by over 30% in gains): e.g., in Layer2 main track, after ARB’s rise, OP and MATIC follow-up gains (fund rotation effect).
c. Niche sector leaders (core within vertical fields of the main track): e.g., in DeFi, DEX leader UNI, lending leader AAVE.
• Three characteristics of meme coins (absolutely avoid):
◦ Not belonging to any current main track, solely driven by small news (e.g., “influencer promotion”).
◦ Trading volume below $5 million, poor liquidity, difficult to sell after buying.
◦ No team, whitepaper, or practical application—pure air coins.
Implementation steps: Every morning, spend 10 minutes using CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap to filter “top 50 by trading volume + over 10% 24h increase” altcoins, analyze the sector with the highest proportion, and determine the day’s main track.
