#加密市场小幅下跌 Today is March 6, 2026. This week, the crypto market finally bid farewell to the previous prolonged sideways decline and ushered in a long-awaited rebound. After Bitcoin (BTC) surged to $74,046 early yesterday morning, it did not continue its strong upward momentum today but instead entered a narrow range of consolidation.

Faced with this market situation, the most concerned question for investors is: Is this a technical rebound or the beginning of a trend reversal?
Technical analysis of today’s market: Bulls and bears are in a “stalemate”
Bitcoin (BTC): The “divergence signal” between funding rates and open interest, from a daily chart perspective, shows that Bitcoin is currently above the 5-day, 10-day, and 20-day moving averages, indicating a short-term bullish alignment, which is indeed a characteristic of a strong rebound. However, beneath the surface candlestick patterns, there are several technical details worth warning about.
First, RSI overbought warning. With yesterday’s surge, Bitcoin’s RSI (Relative Strength Index) quickly entered the overbought zone. Historical experience shows that, in the absence of sufficient momentum, RSI overbought conditions often indicate a short-term momentum exhaustion, and the market may need a technical pullback.
Second, and more critically, the “hot and cold” imbalance in derivatives market indicators. According to Coinglass data, despite the price recovery, the funding rates on mainstream exchanges remain low, even showing negative rates.
Independent analyst Axel pointed out that this negative funding rate has persisted for nearly two weeks, indicating that bears still dominate the perpetual contract market, and market sentiment has not turned euphoric due to the price increase. Meanwhile, Bitcoin’s open interest (OI) in futures contracts is currently only about $20.8 billion, compared to the peak of $47.6 billion in October 2025, which has been halved.
What does this imply? It suggests that leverage in the market has not surged with the price increase, and the “fuel” driving the price up is scarce.
Overall, Bitcoin is currently consolidating within the core range of $71,800–$73,300. This combination of “rising prices, cold sentiment, and low leverage” often indicates two possibilities: either the rally lacks a solid retail foundation and is unlikely to sustain; or bears are “boxed in,” and once the price breaks through a key resistance level, the low-rate environment could easily trigger a short squeeze.
Ethereum (ETH): The “dilemma” under passive follow-up Ethereum’s movement, although correlated with Bitcoin, appears more passive in technical form. ETH today is oscillating in the $2,090–$2,150 range. A warning sign is that predictive market data shows that, despite a large inflow of $169 million into ETH ETFs yesterday, market participants believe there is only a 39% chance that ETH will break above $2,500 in March, and there is a 58% probability it will first retest the $1,500 support level. This indicates that market confidence in ETH’s medium-term prospects remains weak. Technically, ETH has tested key trendline resistance multiple times, but if it cannot sustain above $2,150 with increased volume, its technical structure remains weaker than BTC. Currently, in terms of funding rates, ETH remains neutral, but its inability to turn positive during the rebound cycle reflects a lack of bullish momentum.
The market deadlock urgently needs external forces to break it. Short-term catalyst: The market’s focus is highly concentrated on tomorrow’s (March 7) White House Cryptocurrency Summit. If the US government announces a specific plan to include Bitcoin in strategic reserves, it will directly disrupt the current supply and demand balance and is very likely to trigger a collective bullish signal from quantitative models. Conversely, if the positive news falls short of expectations, the current environment of low open interest could also lead to a bearish squeeze.
