Over $159 million in cryptocurrencies – that's the amount BlackRock just transferred to the Coinbase Prime platform within the last few hours. The asset management giant is strengthening its presence in the digital currency market in spectacular fashion.

Transaction details reveal the scale of engagement: BlackRock deposited exactly 1,814 BTC and 24,472 ETH. Converted at current March 2026 exchange rates, this transaction is worth approximately $181 million – nearly the $159 million originally reported.

This institutional move is not accidental. The transfer to Coinbase Prime, a platform dedicated to institutional investors, suggests that BlackRock not only holds assets but actively manages its cryptocurrency portfolio. A transaction of this size confirms growing interest from traditional financial giants in digital assets.

For the cryptocurrency market, this is a significant signal – the appearance of over $159 million from such a prestigious source indicates declining barriers to mass adoption of cryptocurrencies by major financial institutions.
