I twisted my ankle playing basketball yesterday, and it's pretty serious.

I actually heard the sound of ligament tearing when I twisted it.
I'm usually very careful when playing basketball.

The last time I twisted my left foot.
This time I twisted my right foot—apparently ankle sprains need to be symmetrical.

It's been about 30 hours since I twisted my ankle.
During that time I've iced it six or seven times, and I kept my foot elevated while sleeping yesterday.
It's still swollen like a loaf of bread.

The severity is about the same as last time.
I feel like it'll take at least half a year to recover this time.
I'm not sure if it'll ever be completely back to normal.

I'm getting older, and it looks like basketball isn't really suitable for me anymore.
I need to find safer ways to exercise.
