🚨BREAKING: UBS just froze withdrawals from its $469 million real estate fund for up to 3 years.
Here’s what happened:
• UBS suspended all redemptions from its Euroinvest real estate fund (managed by UBS Real Estate GmbH) citing insufficient liquidity
• The Germany-based fund (€407M AUM at end of February) couldn’t meet investor exit requests
• Withdrawals halted for up to 36 months — any requests after March 25 are blocked
• UBS is also stopping the issuance of new shares
This comes right after Apollo capped redemptions in its big private credit fund. More major funds are now locking investors in. Liquidity cracks are spreading across real estate and private markets.
