Day 11 of San's Journal: Facing My Inner Self

Avoiding fate, avoiding cause and effect, all kinds of shackles confine the true self;
Follow the will of heaven, fulfill the law of causation, today I finally understand that I am myself.
Once enlightened, see the true self, and fear not the old shackles of the past.
The worldly fetters are but a dream, formless and without self.
Being poor calculates destiny, being rich burns incense. Upside down, ask yin and yang.
If one does what one ought, why would one need miraculous remedies from gods and ghosts.
When ten people burn incense, nine do it for wealth, and a few truly do it for blessings.
The gods do not lack three incense sticks, and wealth comes from good-heartedness and good thoughts.
Half crazy, half silly, half mad; half human, half ghost, half immortal.
Half apart, half together, half hearted resentment, half worldly, half Zen, half going with the flow.
Half of life depends on me, the other half depends on heaven.
All are Hades' appointment customers, why bother to be difficult every day.
