The U.S. Supreme Court rejected a legal precedent to curb federal agency power
Jinshi data, June 28th, local time, June 28th, the U.S. Supreme Court, by a vote of 6 to 3, rejected a legal precedent in the 1984 “Chevron v. Natural Resources Defense Council”. The precedent stipulated that when the wording of a regulation is ambiguous, judges should defer to the legal interpretation of federal agencies. Initially seen as reducing the burden of corporate regulation, the ruling actually means that both the Democratic and Republican parties can use it to give agencies flexibility in implementing new regulations on various issues.
