Sometimes innovation in Web3 is not about more complex financial models, but about bringing real-world experiences on-chain.

When I first saw the @watchdotfun model, my initial reaction was surprisingly simple. It turns out blockchain can have such a direct connection with luxury watch collecting.

Watchdotfun has built a watch raffle platform based on on-chain mechanisms, where users can participate in activities to win authentic high-end timepieces, such as Rolex, Audemars Piguet and other collectible brands.

The entire raffle process is completed through on-chain randomization mechanisms, with results that are public and transparent, which is completely different from traditional lottery activities.

In the past, most Web3 applications have concentrated on finance and NFTs, while Watchdotfun brings real-world consumer goods directly into on-chain interaction scenarios.

No need for complex DeFi operations, no need to deeply understand on-chain technology, just participate in activities and you can enter a completely public and transparent raffle system.

In the past, the entry point to on-chain was often trading or investing, but now it could be a simple entertainment experience.

If blockchain initially changed financial systems, then projects like Watchdotfun are gradually changing the way consumption and entertainment interact.

Perhaps in the future, many people's first entry into Web3 won't be for trading, but because of a watch on their wrist.
