I've recently been pondering something during discussions about Elon Musk and cryptocurrencies. This guy has a really interesting relationship with digital assets, and his influence on the markets is so huge that people have started calling him the "Father of Dodge." But what does he actually hold in his portfolio?
Let's start with Bitcoin, because that's where it all began. In 2021, Tesla announced an investment in BTC worth $1.5 billion, and Musk publicly accepted it. Although the company later sold most of its holdings, Musk himself confirmed that he personally holds Bitcoin. To him, it's digital gold—a store of value with unparalleled market dominance. The current price is around $67,530, down 0.32% in the last 24 hours.
The second player in his portfolio is Ethereum. Musk revealed this during a speech at the Word ₿ conference in 2021. Ether is for him a symbol of innovation in blockchain—smart contracts, DeFi, NFTs—all built on Ethereum. The ETH price hovers around $2,060, with a 0.34% increase.
But now, to what really defines him—Dogecoin. It’s his favorite, and he doesn’t hide it. From calling DOGE a "people’s cryptocurrency" to promoting it for payments at Tesla and SpaceX, Musk’s support completely changes the game for this coin. He appreciates its meme-inspired history but also believes in its potential as a medium of exchange due to low fees and an engaged community. Currently, DOGE is trading at about $0.09, down 2.09%.
Besides these three, there are also speculations. Musk denies owning Shiba Inu, but his tweets about dog coins cause significant market movements. Floki Inu, named after his dog, attracts attention, though there’s no confirmation that Musk owns it.
Interestingly, Elon Musk and cryptocurrencies is a topic that keeps generating discussion. His influence on the Elon Musk crypto space is so significant that every tweet can shift market sentiment. It shows how important key figures are in the crypto ecosystem. If you're interested in such assets, it’s worth following movements on Gate, where you can monitor all these coins in real-time.
