I wonder how much the hl team planned everything out vs. going by the flow and betting on great builders.
HIP-3 was a nice idea on paper but @tradexyz made it a game changer.
Strong core team attracts strong teams that build on top. Add good timing and a bit of luck and here we are.

Hyperliquid didn’t raise any money from VCs and risked their own money - but the hard truth is: Many teams could have done this.
The first guard of DeFi founders has been sitting on Billions of dollars for years and many were in even better potion than HL when they launched. But none of the others did because none of them had any hunger left. That’s actually a big problem in crypto - many people got crazy rich and are now too scared to bet again.

Also interesting that Hyperliquid finally brought back the crazy idea that businesses in crypto actually should have users and make money to justify their billion dollar valuations
